"General Haig Corbin, after receiving the message that Sons of Khenochia were fleeing, was able to send a force of his men to head off the retreat of the second party. They were successful in halting and putting down that party. However, unlike the party halted by Captain Iohann, none of the second party was spared. In his own reports, General Corbin was forced, by the ferocity of the rebels, to "neutralize the threat without regard to the possibility of their surrender. The personal account of Jacob Iohann, who served as a sub-captain under General Corbin, verifies this.

The armies of General Ibrahim Tonah were much less successful. According to reports, they were able to engage the first party (which, as previously mentioned, included Gilgrad Hemming as well as other notables) in a quick skirmish; they were unable to either capture or kill, the bulk of the men. This being a result of their "speedy flight". That is where the trouble started.
